Deutscher Unitarier Religionsgemeinschaft
Status: Full Member
Members: 1100, plus 400 friends
Ministers: Lay-led.
Founded:

The Fellowship descends from the 'Free Protestants' founded in 1876 and legaly changed its name in 1950 to Deutche Unitarier Religionsgemeinschaft (German Unitarians).

It is deliberately a lay-led movement which tends toward scientific and philosophical humanism, while acknowledging other faith traditions.

Its members recognize the liberty of having scope for developing their individual beliefs, but they agree on a number of (democratically resolved) basic ideas about religion, the divine, life, human being, and community.

Congregations: 23 communities and a co-operative but independent youth fellowship (Bund Deutsch-Unitarischer Jugend), both organized according to democratic principles.
Publications:

Unitarische Blaetter fuer ganzheitliche Religion und Kultur - bi-monthly.

Publisher: Verlag Deutsche Unitarier, Ravensburg (Germany)

Notes: The denomination maintains a modern conference center at Klingberg near Hamburg.
