Death of Paulo Ereno
We regret to inform you of the death of Paulo Ereno in Brazil. Paulo attended the South American Conference in January and was an enthusiastic Unitarian who wrote very movingly of what it meant to him to discover this faith. He will be missed and lovingly remembered.

From Knut in Norway
This just to let you know that the Norwegian Unitarian Association applied for registration by the State in late May this year. Yesterday we received the answer that our application was rejected because Unitarianism is not a religion as understood by the Government. We will protest to this and argue that our Unitarianism is plain Christianity.

Transylvania Catechism in Finnish
Anti Pelkola of Finland writes that he has translated the catechism of the churches in Transylvanian, Romania and Hungary into Finnish. The translation was done from the English.
Ms. Enikö B. Molnár, who teaches the Finnish language at Kolozsvár university helped much with this work, as did Ms. Edith Gergely , a young Unitarian student who was our member for a year and Dr. Petri Lauerma, a member of our board here in Finland, and a scholar in Finnish and Finnish Ugric languages.
"After this thankfullness I take full responsibility of the mistakes. This has been a great spiritual exercise for me . And I hope that the the Italian, Polish and Norwegian ones will be available soon."

Worship Materials in Spanish
A project of the UU Congregation of Barcelona (Spain), endorsed by a UUA grant, is the composition and publication of a UU Worship manual in Spanish that will be available early next year. We will keep people informed about it.

Italy
Jean-Claude Barbier informs us about an emerging Christian Unitarian Group in Italy. It has a website in Italian and a mailing list. The main promoter is Roberto Rosso with connections to the UK Christian Unitarians. url: cristianiunitari.org

Jaume deMarco writes: "I am happy to announce that the website of the Spanish Unitarian Universalist Society is now also in English. Available languages also include Spanish (the original one) and Catalan."

Cuba:
There is an informal group in northeast Habana interested in creating space for dialog and reflection based in mutual collaboration that unites diverse forms of religious and spiritual expression. At present we do not have a location that belongs to Cuban UUs.

India:
The 7th ICUC Conference held in Madras Dec. 18-22 was successful and gave encouragement to all. Rev. Dr, Francis Manuraj was ordained as minister of Erode District in South India. Aound 125 delegates from the Khasi Hills and 200 from South India attended. The Rev. Devison Marbaniang Memorial Award 2003 was conferred to Mrs. Merlin Gabriel.

Indonesia:
Ellen Kristi who attended the ICUU Council meeting in Prague writes that her report on that meeting was well received by the elders of all their congregations and they support continued involvement with ICUU. They would like to have sent youth to the Khasi Hills program but it was financially not feasible.

11 MARCH -TERRORIST ATTACKS IN MADRID
STATEMENT OF THE UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST SOCIETY OF SPAIN
Regarding the cruel and bloody terrorist attacks that took place in the morning of the 11th of March in Madrid, the Unitarian Universalist Society of Spain, which represents in Spain the Unitarian and Universalist religious tradition, inspired by its fundamental Principals which call us to: honor the inherent worth and dignity of every person, affirm the democratic process, and build a global community based on peace, liberty and justice, declares its absolute and radical condemnation of terrorist violence and affirms that the defense of all human lives and the values of peace and democracy are the only viable and acceptable way to a peaceful coexistence and freedom for all persons and peoples.
